Shortly after moving into a new apartment, Javier starts to experience a recurring nightmare: he’s trapped in an abandoned house, pursued by a faceless figure, and in the basement finds a lifeless body. After weeks of suffering from the terrible dream, he discovers a box full of cassettes hidden in the wall of his bedroom. The tapes contain diary entries of a woman, who to his terror, describe the exact same nightmare he’s been experiencing. Only in her dream, she recognizes the house as her childhood home in Mexico. Javier tracks down the daughter of the woman on the tapes (Camila) but she tells him that her mother (Lucía) has been dead for almost 30 years. She killed herself, and her body was found in Mexico, in the basement of her childhood home. Hoping to unravel the mystery of his dream and her mother’s suicide, Javier and Camila set out to find the abandoned house, but soon feel the presence of a dark entity following them as they drive through the Sonoran Desert.
